Ever since it opened in 1967, “Hiona” has been regarded as one of the best seafood restaurants in Crete, with tables on the edge of the rock, where the waves break. Although the dishes have become quite a bit more sophisticated, there’s still a traditional taste to everything we do. Above all seafood and fish is the main highlight.

As our world came to a full stop last year because of the pandemic,
we decided to become a more sustainable food destination in order to empower our staff and guests to consume responsibly and minimize the damage people do to the environment.

Set in the cool and quiet fishing village of Palekastro, Hiona Restaurant is the perfect place for a relaxing lunch, gazing at the multiple shades of blue in the East Sea of Crete. The view is balm to the soul. It’s all about creating and sharing moments around food and people, a memorable experience based on heartfelt hospitality, stimulating all senses.
